QUILLING
Quilling is also referred to as
It is believed that French and Italian nuns and monks were
the first to decorate religious objects in order to give them
the rich look of ivory or gold. Eventually quilling became
popular in England and the United States.
This art form was called 'quilling' because it is believed
that coils were originally rolled over the end of a goose quill.
Classic Quilling has expanded over the years to include wheat coils
(paper "looped" around a series of
pins, combs, or brush bristles and then formed into shapes), 3D Quilling,
and "Quillography" (paper illustrations using single pieces of paper to form an image),
Paper punching has also become popular with both scrap bookers and quillers alike.

More Great Stuff
I also enjoy sewing (by both hand and machine), needlework, paper crafting,
and metal working.
My creations include Bargello, Gift Card Envelopes, Eyeglass Cases,
and Ornaments.
Again, many of these items are one-of-a-kind.
Gift Envelopes |
Did you ever buy a Gift Card or Lottery Ticket for someone but then didn't know how to wrap it. Simply placing it inside a card is boring. My solution is to put it in an envelope that looks like a little purse. You can hang the envelope over a bottle, around the neck of a stuffed animal, or on a Christmas tree for the recipient to find. The envelopes are made from a wide variety of Cardstock. The closure is resealable and embellished with a gemstone or cabochon. A string of beading, rhinestones, or cording was used for the purse handle. You name the ocassion (Holidays, Birthdays, Retirement, Graduation, Mother's/Father's Day, Anniversary, Wedding, Baby Shower, Communion, whatever) I have an envelope for it! Please note, the handle can be removed if for a man. Price: $2.50 |
Eye Glass Cases |
My Mom kept losing her eyeglass case so I made one for her. Then I made another
in a Christmas motif. I just couldn't stop there! I made others for Bingo players
and golfers
I know. Next it was on to florals, patriotic designs, and sports teams.

The items sold here are not sanctioned, supported, endorsed, or acknowledged by any of the aforementioned parties. Price: $6.00 |
Yo-Yos, Reindeer & Wire Ornaments |
I also do hand-sewing. The Yo-Yos are created by cutting material into circles
of decreasing diameters, hand stitched, gathered, and then sewn together.
The Angels are made from white or 'candle light' satin with lacy
ribbon wings. The Christmas trees come in a variety of colors and patterns;
each topped with a star.
Price: $2.50 - $4.00 |
Bargello |
Bargello is a type of needlepoint embroidery consisting of upright flat stitches laid in a mathematical pattern to create motifs. (wikipedia). In the 17th-century Bargello was most often used to upholster chairs. In present day, Bargello pillows and wall hangings are the craze. By using multiple colors of wool and counting and offsetting stitches on a needlepoint canvas, flames and 3-dimentional looking designs can be created. I use Persian wool to fashion my designs. My pieces are unassembled so they may be made into a pillow or stretched over foam board to render a wall hanging. The type of assembly you prefer will be done by me before shipping. The sizes I have available are 14" x 14", 12" x 16", and 16" x 16". Most of my pieces are one-of-a-kind in both color and design. Unfortunately, I do not bring my Bargello to Craft Shows. However, if you are interested, please feel free to contact me via email. Price: $85.00 - $130.00 |
